Canadian violist David Gaudry is currently serving as Associate Principal Viola of the San Francisco Symphony. Before moving to the US, he began his career as a member of the Vancouver Symphony at age 22. A graduate of Indiana University, he studied with Georges Janzer and Abaraham Skenick, and performed master classes with Janos Starker and Georgy Sebok. He has also studied at the University of Western Ontario under Gerald Stanick, and was a member of the Canadian Chamber Orchestra in Banff. He has won various grants and prizes and was a finalist in the Naumberg competition for viola in New York. Mr. Gaudry lives with his family in Marin County, and is active as a chamber musician and teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a member of the Skywalker Sound Recording Orchestra for Lucasfilm in San Anselma, Ca, and is a faculty member and soloist at the "Summer Music on the Shannon" festival in Limerick, Ireland. |
